How To Register Your Production
So you have a show on your hands and you feel it deserves a piece of hardware
from the good folks at the Brickenden Awards... so how do you get that
award? Here are some helpful tips. Use the button to the right to register your production (Youth Productions use the Register Youth Production button). This responsibility should fall to the Producer, Director or Writer of a production. Please check with your producer before trying to register a production. Registration should occur as soon as possible to ensure that the majority of the Adjudication Panel will be able to attend the production. Only registered productions will be eligible for nomination. 2) Get people to see your show This may seem like a no-brainer but the bigger your audience, the more likely it is people will vote on-line for you. So print up posters, appear in the media and talk up your show to friends and family. 3) Give the Brickenden committee comp tickets You knew this was coming. The Brickenden's volunteer adjudication committee is responsible for seeing and judging over 100 plays a year. Like most folks, they tend to go to stuff they're likely to enjoy, especially if the ticket cost comes out of their own pocket. All registered productions agree to supply between 5 and 8 comps for the Brickenden Adjudication Panel. For the benefit of the public, the committee also maintains and continually updates a listing of all plays for the theatrical year. Check out the Public Theatre Listings to ensure we know about your production or to contact the Brickenden committee. 4) Make sure your show is good The Brickendens are legitimate theatrical awards. We aren't trying to hand out gold stars to all our friends. For more information on how we work, check out The Brickenden Criteria. |
